An additional benefit can be lead times. New furniture can often take six or more weeks to order while pre-owned and refurbished can often be ready to go much sooner.
What is the difference between pre-owned and refurbished office furniture?
Pre-owned furniture is “as-is” furniture. You would be purchasing something in the condition it is currently in. To be a good candidate for pre-owned furniture, you must be comfortable with flaws that inevitably exist when purchasing something that has been previously used. You must also be comfortable with a sometimes limited choice of sizes, colors, and finishes.
Refurbished furniture is pre-owned furniture that has undergone cosmetic changes or been modified. These changes can include new fabric, new paint, and new or re-sized worksurfaces. Our team can help you decide if the furniture you are considering refurbishing is worth the investment. We often recommend only refurbishing furniture with “good bones” or that has been well built to begin with.
